Balanced Transport

Balanced Transport aims to rebalance Minecraft transportation so that minecarts are competitive with more powerful transportation types (e.g. elytra and ice boats).

Features

Minecarts
  • Powered rails are crafted with copper instead of gold
  • Superpowered rails are crafted with gold and increase minecart top speed to 20m/s
  • Crafting regular rails gives 24, crafting powered and superpowered rails gives 12
  • Directional rails are powered rails which only boost minecarts in one direction
  • Minecarts approaching directional rails in the wrong direction are reversed
  • Minecarts can start from a standstill on directional rails with no block behind them
  • The minecart improvements datapack is forcibly enabled
Boats
  • All ice melts in the nether
  • This restricts boat highways to the overworld
